Hello! Richard Johnson here, author of Dead Drunk: Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse… One Beer at a Time. My novel follows the escapades of a motley crew trapped in a Chicago apartment during the zombie apocalypse. Recovering from a raucous bachelor party, the old fraternity buddies now must battle against the cannibalistic horde, a military invasion and their own rampant stupidity. With supplies, common sense and brain cells dwindling by the hour, their chances look slim. The story mostly plays out in a Bucktown apartment that closely resembles one I lived in several years ago near the corner of Armitage and Damen. I loved the neighborhood and felt that it was the perfect setting for a zombie outbreak. If you’re interested in rowdy humor and a little old-fashioned zombie-bashing violence playing out across the Windy City, crack a beer, pull up a barstool, and prepare for one wild ride.
I’ve provided ChicagoZombie.com with a few copies of my book to give away to you lucky readers – email email@example.com with the subject header “I WANNA GET DEAD DRUNK!” for your chance to win a copy. Winners will be chosen at random and notified by email.Leave a Comment Go to Post...

Although the House of Blues confirmed June 7th for the 2013 Chicago Zombie Prom (and gave us the go-ahead to announce it), it turns out they double-booked the date and, since the error came to light, House of Blues has been unable to confirm an alternative date. While we would love to have zombied up the HoB (and we may still, in the future), Zombie Army Productions must soldier on like any good Army.
We’re hard at work finding an alternate location for the 2013 Chicago Zombie Prom. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion this may cause – it really was beyond the Zombie Army’s control.

The Skull-A-Day Blog and Street Anatomy have joined forces to bring together the greatest collection of skull art, to celebrate the 3rd Annual Skull Appreciation Day! The resulting exhibition of skull inspired art works co-curated by Noah Scalin and Vanessa Ruiz will be on view at the International Museum of Surgical Science, in Chicago May 31 – August 25, 2013.
- Mike Egan
- Tom French
- Emilio Garcia
- Ali Gulec
- Joshua Harker
- Nicholas Obery
- Rx Skulls
- Dan Springer
- Rob Tarbell
In addition to showing their existing work, each artist has been asked to complete a frontal view of a skull in their own style using a template we provided. These skulls will then be split apart (digitally) and combined with other artist’s skulls to create a dynamic and unique collection of skull art prints. Each skull will be comprised of the work of two different artists, one from Skull-A-Day and one from Street Anatomy. At the end of the exhibition the respective skull halves will be brought together allowing us to see each artist’s complete skull piece.
The show opens with a reception on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 5-9 pm. Hope to see you there!
