Evil Dead The Musical NOW PLAYING! In Chicago

  • Playing at: Broadway Playhouse
  • Dates: September 23, 2014 – October 12, 2014
  • Runtime: Two hours with an intermission

Ridiculously funny and bloody awesome! That’s what theatregoers from Toronto to NYC and around the world have been saying about the record-breaking musical comedy sensation that takes all the elements of Sam Raimi’s cult classic films (The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness) to make one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time! The only musical in the world where audiences can sit in the “Splatter Zone” and get drenched from the mayhem, or watch from a safe (and dry) distance.

Five college students spend the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It’s all up to our hero, Ash, and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Evil Dead the Musical, has it all – some dismembered limbs, demons telling bad jokes, and catchy tunes (“Look Who’s Evil Now”, “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons”).

  • May be inappropriate for 12 and under. Contains strong language plus a hilarious amount of fake blood, and over-the-top guts and gore! Those seated in the designated ‘Splatter Zone’ VIP seat locations will be splashed by stage ‘blood’ and get increasingly wet over the course of the performance.

Has Chicago’s Lowcarbcomedy Released the Greatest Music Video Ever? Maybe!

Chicago-based Lowcarbcomedy has just released a music video for the band Common Shiner‘s song “Social Mediasochist”, an amazing mash-up of teen romance movie tropes and horror icon characters attending Wes Craven’s Slasher High School. It’s impossible to keep up with all the references in just one viewing – the attention to detail in the background is amazing (SO many great horror references and in-jokes) and the story that unfolds is… well, we’ll shut up and let it speak for itself:
